A named user has their own login. It’s always available to them, 24/7. A named user login is best for users who interact with the application for long periods and must have access whenever they need it. Each named user will have a username set with their email address. Their login will grant them access to the application at any time, without waiting.
A concurrent user seat is available for use by any of the team, as long as it’s not already in use. Concurrent users will also access the application via a username set with their email address. However, administrators will be able to assign as many email addresses to the list of concurrent team members as they see fit. It is likely that at busy times, all seats may be in use and the user may have to wait for a vacancy. To assist with keeping seats free, any concurrent user who has been inactive for the past 15 minutes will automatically be logged out. Concurrent user seats are very cost effective for sharing between users who job-share, work in shifts, or merely require short logins distributed randomly throughout the day. If all available seats are frequently in use, or it is not practical for users to so frequently come back and try again at another time, then more concurrent seats may be purchased.
